Right now I’m sitting in our cottage living room, looking out the large window into the mountains. It’s 5.00 in the evening and as in every evening the clouds are drifting in. That scene is one of my favourites, because I’m a mountain woman. Also I’m a ‘bird<\/strong>er’ and all my life I have longed to come here to see the magnificent feathered ones. Carlos has done such an excellent job to get us where we can see them best. I’m so grateful to him. The search for the resplendant quetzal<\/strong> was exciting; he was persistant in the search and willing to \u201cdrag\u201d this. Dantica Lodge<\/strong> is a special place, a little Eden of ecology, perce shared community and mutual respect. We got home this afternoon after just one short night at Dantica Lodge<\/strong>. We just wanted to take the opportunity to tell you one more time how wonderful your lodge is. Wonderful rooms, clean, modern and cozy, all at the same time. The view from our house was spectacular, it was like waking up right in the cloud forest<\/strong>. We loved the feather duvets that made sure we wouldn’t freeze at night. Your breakfast was just another highlight of our stay there. We spent endless time in your Gallery, wishing we could buy everything! You have created a very precious place that invites people to step into a different world. We have traveled extensively during our 4 years in Costa Rica<\/strong>, but, it has to be said: Dantica Lodge<\/strong> was definitely one of the very best places we have stayed at. We came here for one day and stayed three more \u2013 untill the day of our flight back home! Our jaws dropped when we entered no. 7! What a beautiful view and what attractive, cosy interior decoration. We went along some trails down to the river, well worth. Our thanks to the helpful staff. Thank you for the spectacular views, lovely bungalow, wonderful meals and ‘gezelligheid’.The trampoline and playground and overall child friendliness was a wonderful extra for Emma and Macsen. Our quetzal<\/strong> sighting and the 5 hour walk with Carlos were highlights. The staff gave the place an open and efficient feel. In short, this is a perfect Paradise, we loved it and hope to come back again soon. Thank you for a truly exquisite experience! We loved watching the clouds roll across the hills and trees, the hike to the river (providing our exercise of the day!) and the lovely accommodations. The Jacuzzi tub was perfect for our chilly night. This spot is paradise and was the perfect place to end our honeymoon. We wanted to be immersed in Costa Rica<\/strong>n Life. Coming here though, we’ve really been able to relax thanks to the wilderness surrounding us, the friendly people living in San Gerardo De Dota<\/strong> valley and of course the wonderful staff at Dantica<\/strong>. The views from our large windows are amazing. The food at Dantica<\/strong> is very delicious. The art museum and mini library are both excellent touches. Finally, we really enjoyed how eco-friendly this place is. What an amazing spot in this universe. Dantica<\/strong> charmed us from the moment we arrived. The food and hospitality is outstanding. Save the best till last. We certainly did. Dantica Lodge<\/strong> is the best accommodation you will find in Costa Rica<\/strong>. We loved the design, the furnishings and the attention to detail. The views were rivaled only by those we had at Arenal and were much more peaceful! Breakfasts were superb. The quetzal<\/strong>s behaved themselves and were most predictable. They appeared in the right tree at the right time both morning and afternoon and gave us a wonderful display of great photos. Good luck to Dantica<\/strong>. You deserve to be successful. As people who have spent 15 months in CR during the past five years, it takes a lot to impress. However, we loved out two days here, GREAT FOOD, lovely views and a really different experience. The highlight of course was the resplendant quetzal<\/strong> \u2013 alone worth the visit. Highly recommended for all those who are not only interested in birding. Costa Rica<\/strong>‘s nature is more than birds and this is the only place (on a 4 weeks trip) where we got competent information on plants and vegetation. Definitely the slickest place in San Gerardo de Dota<\/strong>, if not the whole southern sector. Three beautiful, upscale cabins have two bedrooms, each with private bathroom, a full kitchen and a Jacuzzi. The walls are graced with artwork from the owner\u00b4s native Colombia, some of which you can buy in the on-site gallery, while modern furniture and stone and hardwood floors provide a contemporary contrast. The kicker, though, is the wall of windows, with an extraordinary vista over the cloud forest. A romantic breakfast is served on your private terrace. Wir nutzten die Jacuzzi auch zum baden und schliefen mit einem Blick auf einem wonderbaren Sternenhimmel ein. Das Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck auf der Terrasse bei strahlenden Sonnenschein und wunderbaren Fernblick war fantastisch. Abseits der Touristenstr\u00f6me ist es immer am sch\u00f6nsten! Wir waren \u00fcberrascht und sehr erfreut \u00fcber die tolle Lage, die fantastische Aussicht und die pers\u00f6nliche Gastfreundschaft. Wenn wir noch einmal kommen, bleiben wir l\u00e4nger. Le mobilier du logis est d\u2019un go\u00fbt des plus fins et grace aux grandes voies l\u2019ou se cro\u00eet au milieu de la nature avec un paysage splendide de la vall\u00e9e. Ondanks de regen op de dag van aankomst, was het uitzicht betoverend! Het wakker worden met de opkomende zon en blauwe hemel was nog mooier.
